From the Editors: introducing the Second Edition of the PCR-EAPCI Textbook

The PCR-EAPCI Textbook is a key reference for high-quality, evidence-based, and up-todate
information for interventional cardiology practice. The Textbook is accessed regularly
by more than 200,000 users worldwide and its readership is broad and diverse, with
around a third of visitors aged 30 to 40 years, on top of an established base of
experienced readers.

As a leading source of education for interventionalists, the Textbook
strives to cover all relevant clinical and practical aspects in interventional cardiovascular
care. With around 120 chapters authored by world-renowned experts, the textbook
provides deep knowledge on major topics such as cardiac catheterisation techniques,
diagnostic cardiovascular imaging modalities, coronary physiology, percutaneous coronary
and peripheral interventions across the spectrum of clinical settings and lesions,
transcatheter heart valve interventions (comprising aortic, mitral, tricuspid and pulmonary
valve lesions), management of cardiogenic shock and percutaneous treatment of
pulmonary embolism, arterial hypertension, heart failure, stroke, thromboembolic disease
prevention and hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. In addition, the Textbook includes chapters
focusing on adjunctive pharmacology, which is one of the areas that will be expanded in
the future.

The construction of a second Edition has recently been undertaken, with a new website
refining the overall structure and content of the Textbook. Ease of accessibility was a key
motivator for the redesign of the Textbook website, and thus several changes have been
