Summary

Valvar pulmonary stenosis was first described in 1761 by Morgagni in his classic text ‘De Sedibus et Causis Morborum’. Just over two hundred years late Kan and colleagues reported the first case of percutaneous balloon pulmonary valvuloplasty in the New England Journal of Medicine revolutionising the management of this common congenital condition 22.
