Chronic total occlusion PCI in stable angina

ORBITA-CTO
Objective
to determine whether PCI for a single-vessel chronic total occlusion (CTO) provides improvement in angina symptom burden in patients on optimised medical therapy
Study
multicentre, randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial
Population
patients with symptomatic single-vessel CTO without bystander coronary disease
Endpoints
change in angina symptom score (daily ordinal angina scale combining ORBITA-app symptoms, antianginal use, and override events) at 6 months
ORBITA-CTO
ORBITA-CTO
Conclusion
Among patients with symptomatic single-vessel chronic total occlusion, CTO PCI improved relief of angina (beyond that attributable to placebo alone).
