12. Cardiogenic shock and cardiac arrest

Coronary angiography after cardiac arrest without ST-segment elevation

COACT 1 year
Objective
to report the 1 year clinical outcomes of immediate coronary angiography versus delayed coronary angiography in patients after cardiac arrest
Study
multicentre randomised trial
Population
patients successfully resuscitated from cardiac arrest in the absence of STEMI undergoing immediate angiography and PCI (if indicated) and delayed angiography and PCI (if indicated) until after neurologic recovery
Endpoints
survival at 1 year
Conclusion
a strategy of immediate coronary angiography and PCI if indicated was not superior to delayed coronary angiography and PCI if indicated in patients after successfully treated cardiac arrest and no signs of STEMI
