Objective
to report the safety and efficacy of fasting compared to no-fasting before cardiac catheterisation laboratory procedures (fasting no solid food for 6h and no liquids for 2h)

prospective open-label blinded endpoint non-inferiority randomised study (margin: 3%)
Population
patients referred for coronary angiography, coronary intervention or implantation of cardiac devices
Endpoints
composite of hypotension, aspiration pneumonia, hyperglycaemia and hypoglycaemia


Conclusion
no fasting was non-inferior to fasting in patients undergoing cardiac catheterisation laboratory procedures
