10. Lesion haemodynamic assessment and PCI

Functional testing underlying coronary revascularisation

FUTURE
Objective
to evaluate whether a treatment strategy based on FFR was superior to a traditional strategy without FFR in the treatment of multivessel CAD
Study
multicentre, open-label, randomised controlled superiority trial
Population
multivessel CAD cases (≥50% stenosis in ≥2 arteries) planned for revascularisation (PCI or CABG)
Endpoints
(i) composite of major adverse cardiac or cerebrovascular events (MACCE) at 12 months, (ii) bypass graft patency in all CABG patients at 12 months by coronary multidetector computed tomography
Conclusion
no evidence of reduction in MACCE was seen with FFR-guided as opposed to angiography only treatment strategy in multivessel CAD patients at 12 months follow-up timepoint
