Objective
to determine whether IVUS-guided PCI improves patient-oriented outcomes versus angiography-guided PCI in unprotected left main coronary artery disease
Study
international, multicentre, open-label, randomised superiority trial
Population
patients with unprotected left main coronary artery disease undergoing either IVUS-guided PCI or angiography-guided PCI
Endpoints
patient-oriented composite of any stroke, any myocardial infarction, any revascularisation, or all-cause death at the longest follow-up
Conclusion
In patients with unprotected left main coronary artery disease, routine IVUS-guided PCI did not reduce the composite of stroke, myocardial infarction, any revascularisation, or all-cause death when compared with angiography-guided PCI.
