Objective
to report the clinical outcome of ultrasound renal denervation compared to sham procedure in patients with three or more antihypertensive medications (including diuretic)
Study
international, single-blind, sham-controlled, multicentre randomised trial
Population
patients (18-75 years) office blood pressure at least 140/90 mmHg despite intensive treatment. Eligible patients: switched to once daily single pill combination of calcium channel blocker, angiotensin receptor blocker and thiazide diuretic. Then patients with daytime ambulatory blood pressure of at least 135/85 mmHg were studied
Endpoints
change in daytime ambulatory systolic blood pressure at 2 months

Conclusion
ultrasound renal denervation reduced blood pressure at 2 months compared to sham procedure in patients with hypertension resistant to triple antihypertensive medications
